The campaign focuses on three things:
Keep the table open — Every day at 12 Baskets, neighbors share a meal. No cost, no barriers, no stigma. Your contributions keep the kitchen running and the doors open.
Keep telling the truth about poverty — Your support helps bring real stories, lived experience, and community learning into the open.
Keep holding the space together— Rent, utilities, and basic operations aren’t flashy, but without them, none of this exists. Your gift keeps this space rooted and reliable.
How your contribution helps our community:
$50 - Contributes to Kitchen Mama Donna getting new cooking utensils like knives and pans.
$100 - Prints 25 copies of The Intersection Street Paper, which provides a viable employment opportunity for people who are otherwise turned away for lack of address or general discrimination.
$250 - Sponsors a group of students for a downtown poverty walk where participants gain insights into the realities of poverty in Asheville from those with lived experience.
$500 - Provides mulch, seeds, and supplies to our community garden space for another incredible season of enjoying our amazing outdoor space in the heart of West Asheville.
$1,000 - Covers about 10 days of operating costs for 12 Baskets Cafe, providing hot lunches, free groceries, supplies, resource connections, and group activities for the community.
