Moonlight Cheese Alliance
What We Do
We are a writing collective founded in the community of Asheville Poverty Initiative's 12 Baskets Café and Community Center.
We hold in-person prompted writing groups at 610 Haywood Rd every Friday from 1PM to 2PM. Typically around 10-15 minutes is writing time, and the rest is optional sharing time.
All are welcome! If this interests you, we highly encourage you to come check us out :)
What We Make
We collect all of the handwritten artifacts from the meetings as well as various images from the community, then our team transcribes and compiles the work to be published in our zine, "the intersection."
The zines are then sold at local Asheville bookstores for direct donations back to API!
Street Paper
A new project we are launching is the intersection street paper!
Astrology, local news, op-ed pieces, games, interviews, profiles and more to be found straight from the 12 Baskets community. Written for and distributed by local community members, this is another step to keep print media alive in the digital age.
All proceeds go directly to the distributer, to find them be on the lookout for carriers on the streets of West and Downtown Asheville.
